Call for Nominations: 2018 Alma Dea Morani Award
Nominate an outstanding contemporary woman physician or scientist
The Women in Medicine Legacy Foundation (formerly the Foundation for the History of Women in Medicine) is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2018 Alma Dea Morani M.D. Renaissance Woman Award are now being accepted.
The Alma Dea Morani Award was created to honor an outstanding contemporary woman physician or scientist in North America who has had a significant impact on our knowledge and understanding of medicine and medical science, while also contributing to humanitarian causes, social sciences or the arts.
The 2017 Alma Dea Morani Award is being presented to two exquisite candidates: Elizabeth Blackburn, PhD, and Carol Greider, PhD, Nobel Laureates who made a groundbreaking discovery in what makes cells age. To meet Drs. Blackburn and Greider, please attend our awards presentation on November 3, 2017.
The award is presented annually by the Women in Medicine Legacy Foundation. You can review our list of past awardees here.
As the participation of women in the fields of medicine and the medical sciences continues to grow, it is important to recognize and celebrate the success of those women who pave the way for more women to follow. We encourage you to share this opportunity with your colleagues and professional networks, in support of the advancement of women in medicine.
Nominations will be accepted until September 30, 2017. Please forward your nomination to the Foundation office at admin@wimlf.org. For further information, please contact the Foundation via email or by phone at 610-850-0154.
